A six-foot nine-inch long concrete-filled steel pipe is set into a twelve-inch diameter concrete footing with three inches of clearance at the base. The top of the concrete fill is sloped and painted to match the post. Exterior grade conditions require the footing to be two inches above finish grade with a one-half inch radius tooled edge, while interior finish levels align with the building floor. Guard posts are specified as six-inch diameter with one-quarter inch minimum thickness, painted OSHA safety yellow unless noted otherwise.
