A twelve-gauge ceiling strap, measuring three inches wide by four inches long minimum and bent to align with the wire, is fastened to the underside of a twenty-gauge minimum metal deck using two number eight by one-half inch self-tapping sheet metal screws. Insulation is installed over the metal deck. A bracing wire connects to the ceiling strap assembly. If self-tapping screws are used with concrete fill, the screws must be set before placing concrete.
