About this detail

A vertical picket guardrail panel is installed at the top level landing of a stair assembly, positioned with a height of 2'-10" above the finished floor level. The stair framing connects to a structural steel beam supporting the landing construction, featuring treads with an 11" run and 1" projection. A guardrail beyond is referenced to detail 12/A6-003, and additional notes direct the builder to detail 2/A6-003 for the balance of requirements. The guardrail panels are manufactured to meet minimum spacing requirements per the current building code.
