A water distribution trough assembly is suspended from the structural deck above by stainless steel all-thread rods coordinated with the structural engineer. The trough features a water inlet connection leading into a non-turbulent water inlet chamber, separated by a trough weir from the adjacent nozzle distribution chamber. Nozzle intervals are specified at a minimum of one and one-quarter inches, with three-eighths inch diameter holes drilled through the trough for NRC200 nozzles and NRC100 or NRC101 lace nozzles. An overflow pipe with a one and one-half inch diameter is provided for every ten feet of trough length, positioned one and one-half inches above the bottom and side. Trough supports are embedded in concrete with a twenty-four inch suspension clearance, and support locations are determined by the consultant.
