A cast-in-place concrete curb is positioned adjacent to a concrete walk with a thickened edge, separated by a half-inch expansion joint. The concrete curb has tooled one-half-inch radius edges and sits on aggregate base with natural grade sloping away. The concrete walk features a thickened edge extending eight inches wide with a variable depth of two times x, with the slab thickness per plans. A half-inch expansion joint is provided between the curb and walk with tooling at the top corner. General notes specify providing expansion joints at sixteen feet on center maximum and at curve tangents and corners.
