Five-eighths-inch gypsum board is applied over three-and-five-eighths-inch metal studs to form the framing soffit. Plywood blocking supports the coiled wire fabric hanging hardware within the ceiling plenum. A vertical hanging rod with an S-hook secures the coiled wire fabric below the bottom soffit reference. Fasteners tie the blocking back to the cold-formed steel framing members.
