A five-inch by five-inch by three-eighths-inch steel angle spans the full width of the hoistway to support the elevator sill and track assembly. Concrete anchors, as required by the elevator manufacturer, secure this angle to the elevated concrete slab over metal decking. The elevator doors and jamb sit beyond the sill, which is installed to accommodate the scheduled floor finish. A metal shroud, provided by the elevator manufacturer, is installed below the sill assembly, and the adjacent shaft wall system is constructed per the architectural plans.
