A control joint is integrated into a suspended gypsum board ceiling system to accommodate movement and prevent cracking. The gypsum board panels terminate on either side of the joint, leaving a gap bridged by a surface-mounted control joint accessory. The framing is suspended from the overhead structure using hanger wires tied to main runners, positioned at a maximum spacing of twenty-four to thirty feet.
