A continuous twenty-gauge minimum three-inch deep leg deflection track attaches to the fluted steel deck at twelve inches on center maximum. The gap between the deck, beam, and top of the wall fills with mineral wool insulation. A continuous two-inch wide by twenty-gauge metal strap ties the gypsum board together, with the gypsum board attached to the strap at eight inches on center maximum. Spray-applied fire-resistive material coats the beam flange beyond and applies to each side of the fluted deck and wall intersection with a minimum one-half-inch overlap at the gypsum board. Gypsum board and studs remain unattached to the deflection track in the specified clearance area.
