This two-hour rated fire partition consists of two layers of five-eighths-inch gypsum board on both sides of steel studs spaced at sixteen inches on center. A sound attenuation blanket fills the stud cavity between faces. Sealant is applied on both sides at the partition head where it meets the metal deck. The assembly terminates at the finish floor at the base and intersects a ceiling plane.
