A reinforced concrete foundation wall bears on a continuous concrete footing below the frost line. The interior concrete slab-on-grade abuts the foundation stem wall, separated by a control joint or expansion joint material. Finish floor levels are indicated on the interior side with a datum line. A wall assembly rises from the top of the foundation stem wall.
