A hollow metal door frame sets within a cold-formed steel metal stud wall assembly finished with gypsum board on the interior and a masonry veneer on the exterior. The wall cavity contains 4 inches of mineral wool insulation backed by a fluid-applied air and vapor barrier over fire-retardant treated wood blocking. The door frame is secured adjacent to the framing with backer rod and sealant applied on both sides. A drip edge metal flashing and aluminum trim matching the frame finish are installed at the exterior transition to the quarried stone or face brick veneer.
