A 1 1/2-inch steel pipe handrail is anchored into a concrete landing using a 2-inch diameter by 12-inch long steel pipe sleeve cast into the concrete. The vertical steel pipe posts are spaced at 6'-0" on center maximum with three horizontal rail members. Number 4 reinforcing bars at 24 inches long are placed at each side of the post within the concrete. All welds are ground smooth and the steel pipe is primed and painted per specifications.
