A cold-formed steel partition abuts the underside of a concrete slab on metal deck, utilizing six hundred s one sixty dash thirty-three metal studs spaced at twenty-four inches on center with five-eighths inch Type X gypsum board on both sides. The wall top track is secured with four Hilti DS powder-actuated fasteners with a two-inch embedment. Four number twelve TEK screws connect the framing components at the head of the wall. Joint sealant is applied on both sides of the partition to resist the passage of smoke.
