A stainless steel strip light mounts to a one-and-five-eighths-inch by twelve-gauge strut channel with strut channel nuts. The strut channel secures to the bottom flange of a steel joist using a one-quarter-inch diameter threaded weld stud welded directly to the joist. Rigid board insulation covers the underside of the deck and wraps around the framing. The light fixture may be mounted either parallel or transverse to the strut channel.
