An acoustic wall assembly consists of non-structural metal framing faced with gypsum board on both sides and filled with acoustic blanket insulation. Electrical junction boxes are inset into the gypsum board facing and must be offset by one stud space minimum to maintain acoustic performance. Acoustical joint sealant is applied around the perimeter of the junction boxes where they penetrate the gypsum board.
