A typical horizontal reveal joint between adjacent precast concrete panels features a three-quarter-inch joint width with a one-eighth-inch tolerance. The joint is sealed with two foam backer rods and MasterSeal NP 150 or equal sealant applied at each face. The outer edge incorporates a half-inch radius tool joint at the inside face, while the outside face is detailed to receive primer and two coats of elastomeric paint after the joint sealant cures. Paint is omitted at the inside face where the wall is covered by furring or rigid insulation.
