This interior ceiling step detail features metal ceiling framing supporting a lower ceiling level finished with five-eighths inch gypsum board and an upper ceiling level finished with acoustic plaster. Plywood nailers of one-half inch and five-eighths inch thickness provide solid backing for custom architectural wood or plaster trim profiles designated as T73, T74, and T75. The vertical bulkhead transitions between the two ceiling elevations using cold-formed steel framing components anchored directly to the ceiling structure above. The finish trims intersect to create a stepped architectural reveal along the ceiling plane.
