A built-up stud column is anchored to a concrete slab on grade using a continuous bottom track and Simpson SSC4.25 connectors fastened with 3/8-inch diameter by 4 1/2-inch Titen HD anchors to the slab. The column assembly incorporates three vertical studs matching typical wall studs flanked by two typical tracks, secured with eight number 10 self-tapping screws at 12 inches on center. Typical wall studs frame into the assembly continuously along each side above the continuous bottom track.
