A forty-two inch high hatch mounted guard rail is installed on open sides of the roof hatch assembly. A self-closing gate is verified to openable to ninety degrees. A ladder safety system features a telescoping extension bracket extending up into the hatch opening. Clearances include twenty-one inches maximum clearance, one foot three inches clearance on each side, and a two-foot-six-inch minimum service aisle.
