This assembly consists of a light gauge metal framed soffit projecting from a vertical wall surface. The vertical wall is finished with five-eighths inch gypsum board on light gauge metal framing. The horizontal soffit underside and vertical face are finished with ceramic tile installed over five-eighths inch tile backer board, which is screwed to the ceiling framing using corrosion-resistant screws. Metal edge trim is installed at all corners and finished with tape and joint compound. The ceiling and soffit layout and dimensions are referenced to the reflected ceiling plan.
