A lightning protection rod mounts onto a lightning protection base set in sealant over the roof membrane, using Sikaflex 1A. A continuous eight-inch-minimum-wide PVC sixty-mil strip hot-air welds directly to the roof membrane adjacent to the mounting base. A lightning protection cable secures through the base assembly.
