A suspended ceiling soffit over a pool deck area features twenty-gauge three and five-eighths inch metal studs spaced at two feet on center, suspended by twelve-gauge wire hangers spaced at a maximum of twenty-four inches on center. The ceiling and soffit surfaces are finished with five-eighths inch moisture and mold-resistant gypsum board. Tile over a five-eighths inch tile backer board is applied to the face of the soffit and pool deck surfaces as specified by the reflected ceiling plan. Exposed painted finishes are designated as paint IFS-1.
