A partition control joint detail incorporates dual metal studs placed on each side of a one-half inch joint space. Acoustic sealant is applied to both sides of the joint, typically at acoustical partitions. Acoustic insulation fills the cavity between the metal studs, with additional acoustic insulation provided as required by the specific partition type.
