Installation begins by setting posts and excavating a six-inch by six-inch trench, angling posts ten degrees upslope for stability and self-cleaning with a minimum depth of twelve inches. Filter fabric is then attached to the posts and extended down into the trench. The trench is backfilled and the excavated soil is compacted against the fabric. Plan and elevation views illustrate proper layout across a drainageway, ensuring elevation points A are higher than point B.
