This one-hour fire-rated corridor partition consists of wood framing spaced at sixteen inches on center with structural sheathing design requirements per plan. Both the unit side and the corridor side are finished with one layer of five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum wall board, which is painted. The cavity is filled with acoustic batt insulation where specified to achieve an STC rating between 55 and 59. One side features a one-half-inch resilient channel to improve acoustic performance.
