An aluminum sunshade extends two feet six inches from a glazed aluminum curtain wall and attaches directly to the vertical mullion. An aluminum sheet metal brake is fastened to the top of the sunshade and extends outward to form a drip edge. A continuous three-eighths-inch thick aluminum plate with a half-inch shim anchors to the horizontal mullion using sheet metal screws as required. A half-inch joint with sealant and backer rod seals the junction between the head assembly and the framing. The terrace door head assembly is sized per plan and door schedule.
