A 1 1/2-inch steel pipe handrail is primed, painted, and welded smooth, supported by vertical steel pipe posts spaced at a maximum of 6 feet on center. The post extends down into a 2-inch diameter by 12-inch long steel pipe sleeve cast directly into the concrete landing. Reinforcing consists of #4 bars at 24 inches on each side of the post. The top of the handrail sits 36 inches above the landing surface.
