Concrete pavers set on a two-inch sand bed over a one-inch maximum sand base utilize polymerized jointing sand at all joints. A soldier course of pavers defines the perimeter edge. A one-inch closed-cell backer rod and sealant, specified as TSLNT-2, manage the transition where the sidewalk meets the building. The entire paving system rests on six inches of compacted stone over compacted native soil, with filter fabric installed between the stone and soil layers.
