A pipe sleeve extends through a one-foot-thick reinforced ramp concrete slab to house a gate post, anchored at the bottom by a three-inch by three-inch by quarter-inch plate welded to the sleeve. Two number four reinforcing bars are placed at the sleeve within a ten-inch deep thickened slab drop. The void around the post is filled with non-shrink grout over a cold joint, with a six-inch clear dimension verified with architectural drawings.
