A one-hour fire-rated soffit assembly abuts a heavy timber glulam beam with a framed partition meeting the underside. Flexible firestop sealant is applied at full depth of the gypsum board on both sides of the partition joint. The partition type is installed as indicated on the architectural floor plans.
