A pipe penetrates through a framed wall assembly with a maximum clearance of one and one-quarter inches and a minimum of one-quarter inch. The annular space is packed with Thermafiber safing insulation and finished with a fire code compound penetration seal. The assembly complies with Underwriters Laboratories designations U.L. U449 and U.L. U605.
