An expansion joint is formed between a concrete slab or curb and a vertical wall surface using a one-half-inch expansion joint filler. The filler is recessed one-half inch below the finished surface to accommodate a continuous gray sealant bead installed over a backer rod. The concrete curb features a height of twelve inches with typical twelve-foot spacings.
