This concrete slab on grade assembly rests upon a well-compacted subgrade overlaid by a granular base course layer containing a perforated drainage pipe. The reinforced concrete slab is cast directly over a capillary water barrier or vapor retarder resting on the compacted crushed stone base. The subgrade provides stable foundational support for the entire floor system while the embedded pipe manages subsurface moisture.
