This assembly shows a partition wall intersecting a sound-rated wall system. The sound-rated wall consists of cold-formed steel studs filled with sound attenuation batts, finished on the circulation side with seven-eighths inch hat channels secured by sound isolation clips. Two layers of five-eighths inch Type X gypsum board are attached to the hat channels. The intersecting partition wall is framed with cold-formed steel studs and finished with two layers of five-eighths inch Type X gypsum board on both sides.
