A wire mesh panel guardrail is mounted at the edge of a composite concrete deck and steel structure with a minimum height of forty-two inches. The guardrail frame consists of steel angles welded in place with intermittent welds spaced at regular intervals, with typical flat bars at the base. A steel plate tab is anchored into the concrete edge and welded to the vertical support. The assembly satisfies the requirement to prevent the passage of a four-inch diameter sphere.
