An acoustic partition consists of non-structural metal framing faced with layers of gypsum board on each side. Cavities between the framing receive acoustic blanket insulation to improve sound attenuation. Electrical junction boxes installed on opposing faces are offset by a minimum of one stud space to maintain acoustic performance. Joints around the perimeter of the penetrations are sealed with acoustical joint sealant.
