A hollow metal door frame connects below a built-up head assembly framed within a pre-engineered metal building wall. Continuous sheet metal flashing drip spans the transition above the door opening, with backer rod and sealant applied on each side of the frame head interface. Pre-engineered metal building siding extends down past the flashing, adjacent to a hypothetical location of a presumed Z-girt provided by the manufacturer.
