This interior stair base assembly features painted two-by-twelve hollow structural section stringers on both sides, with the top edge cut to maintain a typical one-half-inch clearance from the top of the base shoe along the stair run. An industrial red closure plate matches the flange thickness and connects to the metal angle welded to each stringer. Expansion anchors secure the base assembly to the concrete slab per structural drawings. A handrail maintains a minimum thirty-six-inch height above the finished floor with a one-and-one-half-inch minimum diameter grip. Treads are detailed with a two-inch anti-slip contrast stripe in industrial red.
