A cold-formed metal stud partition extends upward to meet an existing structure, featuring a gypsum board ceiling framed with metal stud joists secured by number 10 sheet metal screws at each stud flange. Plywood or gypsum board is installed where required, and batt insulation fills the partition cavity according to the partition schedule. A typical corner bead finishes the gypsum board edge at the ceiling intersection, and a four-inch minimum variable dimension clears the ceiling framing from the partition top.
