This parapet section details the interface between a lightweight concrete over metal deck roof assembly, a boxed beam, and an aluminum storefront system below. The roof deck is surfaced with PVC roofing sloped at one-quarter inch per foot toward the parapet, where it is secured with mechanical fasteners and sealed with sealant and backer rod. The vertical face of the parapet is clad in metal panel over five-eighths-inch exterior Type X gypsum sheathing and a weather-resistant barrier. The boxed beam supports the parapet cap, which features a continuous weld. An aluminum storefront system is integrated directly beneath the floor slab edge with continuous sealant and backer rod joints.
