A fire-rated head of wall connection at a concrete-filled metal deck accommodates both perpendicular and parallel flute orientations. A slotted deflection track accommodates structural movement while supporting a rated partition as scheduled. The assembly incorporates mineral wool insulation with a minimum density of four pounds per cubic foot packed into the cavity, finished with a three-quarter-inch fire resistive joint spray. Acoustical sealant is installed at the partition junction alongside a metal strap per structural requirements on UL system HW-D-0456.
