An electrical outlet box or junction box is set into a gypsum wallboard partition lined with batt insulation. The outlet box is sealed airtight using sheet caulking pads, and a one-quarter inch gap around the perimeter is filled with acoustic sealant. A conduit runs down into the box from within the wall cavity. Separate outlets on opposite sides of the wall by sixteen inches minimum, and apply fire-rated putty pads where needed.
