This drawing outlines the fabrication and installation requirements for safety signage on wrought iron gates. The sign must be a permanently affixed reflectorized sign made of porcelain on steel with beaded text or equal, mounted at a height of sixty inches above finished grade to the top of the sign. The sign text mandates that the use of the gate under windy conditions is prohibited and that the gate must be left locked open or locked closed. Installation must conform to Section 4.30 of the Americans with Disabilities Act and be posted on the exterior side of each gate or pair of gates. The contractor is responsible for contacting the governing agency to obtain required information and to complete the sign text.
