This plan detail shows a seismic expansion joint assembly spanning a five-inch joint width between interior partition walls. The construction incorporates a continuous extruded aluminum cover plate and a formed aluminum center plate supported by two-inch wide aluminum anchor clips spaced at eighteen inches on center with shop-installed Duroflex gaskets. Sound attenuation insulation fills the partition cavity depth, and one-hour rated gypsum board partitions with batt insulation occur where required. Corner beads finish the wall edges, and the exposed surfaces receive a finish to match the adjacent wall finish.
