A steel framing connection has diagonal braces framing into a column and beam intersection. One-half inch connection plates and three-eighths inch plates are welded with quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides typically. A five-sixteenth inch fillet weld is specified at each flange connection. The assembly centers on a structural work point with gridded alignment markers.
