This soffit assembly consists of a composite metal panel system secured to a twenty-two gauge galvanized metal backer. The backer is fastened to three and five-eighths inch metal stud framing with five-eighths inch gypsum board. Twenty-four gauge galvanized starter clips provide the edge termination for the panel system, maintaining a one-inch minimum clearance from the adjacent wall finished with tile. The exposed gypsum and plywood surfaces are painted black to minimize visibility within the reveal. An LED light fixture is integrated at the wall-soffit junction, and the panel is adhered to the backer using very high bond panel tape.
