The gate latch assembly utilizes a five-eighths inch diameter by eight-inch long steel pin latch with a four-inch handle, sliding into three three-quarter inch diameter by one-inch long steel pipe sleeves welded to the gate frame. The cane bolt assembly consists of two five-eighths inch diameter by ten-inch minimum length steel cane bolts with two-inch handles, engaging into three-quarter inch diameter by two-inch long steel pipe sleeves welded to the gate. Both assemblies are finished with paint to match the gate. The cane bolts are spaced five-eighths of an inch apart at the center and provide a two-inch engagement depth into the ground or threshold. All hardware must comply with California Building Code 11B-308 reach range provisions, generally requiring a minimum height of fifteen inches above finished floor.
