An acoustical partition assembly features face layers of gypsum board cut to allow a minimum one-quarter inch overlap by the face plate. Typical outlet boxes are installed with a minimum of one inch of acoustical insulation placed between back boxes. Acoustical putty pads are applied to the boxes typically, and any remaining voids between the gypsum board and the box not covered by putty pads are sealed. Partition finishes are applied per the interior elevations.
