Wall-mounted exit signs are positioned centered above the door frame when vertical clearance exceeds twelve inches. When the dimension above the door is less than twelve inches, the exit sign is mounted on the strike side aligned with the top of the frame. Equal spacing dimensions govern the centered overhead alignment.
